Frequently Asked Questions How is the Paid Membership different from the Free Facebook Group? The paid membership includes a publicly searchable listing in our Online Directory, making it easier for others to find and connect with you. Paid members enjoy unlimited access to both in-person and Zoom meetings, exclusive discounts and freebies offered by fellow members, and access to a members-only Facebook group—on top of everything available in the main Facebook group. Paid members also receive pre-approval status in the main Facebook group, so your posts go live without waiting for moderator approval. In keeping with our commitment to accessibility and community support, in-person networking events in Raleigh and online include an optional $5 donation. Do the benefits of membership include in-person meet-ups? Yes, in-person meet-ups are part of the membership, and members will have priority access if space is limited; however, most events are open to all women. TWN bi-weekly networking meetings will remain free, giving everyone the opportunity to connect with new people and offering an option for those who may not be able to afford the cost. What is the $20 registration fee for? The one-time registration fee accounts for the time spent during the 30-minute call, as well as the effort involved in entering your information and photos into the directory. What are a member's obligations to the group throughout the year? We want you to be all in! However, there are no "musts." We encourage you to attend events regularly and participate actively in whatever capacity you can, but there are no specific requirements beyond adhering to the group's core values. Is the Paid Membership going to be separate from the Free Facebook group? Yes, and no. The paid version is designed for members who are committed to TWN, seeking deeper connections and aligning with our core values. This membership offers additional benefits while still allowing participation in our free in-person networking events and engagement in the main Facebook group. It stands apart due to a greater level of involvement and exclusive access to features like the Online Directory and unlimited Zoom meetings. However, it retains a familiar atmosphere, as the admin team will be present at all events to ensure a cohesive vibe. Do you have to be local to Raleigh, NC to be a part of the TWN membership? No. Historically, we have restricted access to the main Facebook group to women living or working in Raleigh and the greater Triangle area, as the focus was on in-person meetings and local business connections. However, with the introduction of the paid membership, women from other areas can now join, as they can participate via Zoom. TWN recognizes that many women-owned small businesses and solopreneurs now operate on a global scale. Do I need to have a 30-minute call with an admin before becoming a member? Yes, unless we are already familiar with you. The purpose of the call is to get to know all our members, answer any questions about TWN, and enhance our ability to serve and connect everyone effectively. Although it's not a screening interview, we want to ensure that you are a good fit and align with our core values before joining. I don't own a business. Is joining TWN still for me? Whether you're a small business owner, solopreneur, employed in a sales position, looking for work, or seeking friendship, TWN is for you. While many of our members are business owners or aspiring entrepreneurs, we also encourage non-business owners to join, especially at our social events. Since TWN isn’t just a business networking group, there are plenty of opportunities for personal growth and forming friendships. Besides, we all know someone who might need a service or product, or who could be looking for a job or recommendation. Are members in the online directory endorsed by TWN? Sort of, but not really. Paid members are expected to uphold TWN’s core values, but we cannot guarantee specific outcomes or experiences, nor are we liable for any issues. While we aim to include members whose values align with ours and will address problematic behavior, there is no formal screening process. Our goal is to create a safe environment built on trust, which may involve removing members whose behavior does not align with our values. Ultimately, TWN focuses on fostering acceptance and supporting personal growth rather than being overly restrictive. Is there a time commitment when joining? We ask that you commit to one year of membership, regardless of whether you opt for the monthly or annual plan. Commitment is a core value for TWN, reflecting a deeper level of interest and involvement, and it allows time to cultivate meaningful connections and achieve positive outcomes. However, we understand that flexibility may be necessary in certain circumstances. I'm a TWN Founder. Is there an additional fee for membership inclusion? Yes, Founders can upgrade to include membership for a combined fee of $39.99 per month. This upgrade will elevate you to Premium Founder status and provide all the benefits of TWN Membership, including a listing in the online directory and access to discounts available to paid members. Reach out to Debi or Michelle to upgrade. Still Need Convincing? Here's Linda's story In April (2024), I saw a post on Facebook about a free women’s networking event happening at Piada Italian Street Food in Morrisville. I am shy and introverted, and networking always overwhelmed me. I wasn’t comfortable with the groups I networked with in the past, so I decided to try this one. I had nothing to lose, and it was reassuring to know that only women would be there. I met Debi Epler first. I walked in and nervously confirmed with her that I didn’t have to belong to any specific group to attend. She immediately welcomed me. I also met Michelle Myers, who founded Triangle Womens Network, and Melissa Lawson, TWN’s admin assistant. The atmosphere was unbelievably comfortable. I felt accepted right away. I liked that it was casual and unstructured. Because we weren’t shaking hands and trading business cards competitively, I felt like I was among friends. I was. So I kept going to the meetings whenever I had time. The women that go to TWN meetings are warm and welcoming. They are authentic and show up as themselves, not in phony “business mode.” It is a positive, supportive group where we encourage each other and lift each other up. Nobody competes and everyone helps. If we meet others in our same fields, it’s a chance to compare notes or collaborate. We don’t try to beat each other out. We introduce ourselves with a 30 second “elevator pitch” like other networking organizations, but nobody feels judged., It isn’t that kind of atmosphere. It’s an easy way to meet businesspeople in a relaxed environment. You are free to join other groups and aren’t required to go each week. You come and go as you please. We go to these meetings as ourselves, and walk away with new business contacts, prospects, and friends. The meetings are a mix of new and old faces: There are always new women to meet while we get to know the regulars. Some come dressed up, some wear jeans. I became a TWN founding member in August. It is by far the group I have given the most to, and gained the most from, both personally and professionally. My contacts led me to new business and a part time job. I have resources to draw on and new sources of products and services. We help each other. But the best benefit is that because of Triangle Womens Network, I am no longer afraid to network. - Jennifer DeCa
< Back Jennifer DeCa 919-830-0541 Visit Website Member Bio I help small and mid‑sized businesses elevate performance by empowering their employees with the skills they need to thrive. This mission isn’t a marketing line; it’s genuinely what gets me out of bed every morning. Of all the roles I’ve held in law enforcement and retail, training has always been my first love. Growing up, I spent my days tumbling off every surface in the house (still a gymnast), repeatedly kicking a soccer ball against the garage wall (apologies to the neighbors), “arresting” invisible suspects (usually as Officer Poncherello from CHiPs - female action‑role models were in short supply), and, of course, “teaching” a full classroom of stuffed animals lined up in neat rows across my bedroom floor. Yes, there was a chalkboard. Yes, attendance was mandatory. That last hobby turned out to be prophetic. Every job I’ve held since age 17 has involved teaching colleagues and anyone who needed to learn the task at hand. Apparently, the hours I spent lecturing teddy bears were a solid investment. My role as a trainer happened by accident. A manager saw skills in me that I hadn’t yet recognized. My enthusiasm for learning and my instinct to share information with others stood out long before I understood that training was a real career path. My first manager tapped me to train new employees, and by the time I became a police officer, teaching had become second nature. Law enforcement culture thrives on shared knowledge, and I loved contributing to it. That passion expanded into process improvement and even authoring user manuals for the software our teams used. When training became my full‑time responsibility, I knew I’d found my professional home. I taught anywhere my department would let me, internally, at colleges, and in partner organizations. Each time I stepped away from training to explore another aspect of law enforcement, I inevitably found myself pulled right back in. Learning and development wasn’t just something I did; it became part of who I am. I strengthened that identity through formal education, professional certifications, and work as an adjunct instructor. And honestly? I became hooked on that moment when a learner uses a new skill, and you instantly can see how it benefits them and the organization they serve. That’s how DeCaro Consulting was born. Training and developing job skills aren’t just services I offer; they’re woven into my professional DNA. So now that you know my story… how can I help your team build the skills that empower them to feel accomplished and contribute at their highest level? I love all animals and have always had many in my life including goats, cows, rabbits, dogs, cats, ferrets, birds, and many other creatures. After being talked out of vet school, I proceeded directly to the Potomac Horse Center after High School and earned my Horse Master’s certification. For years I worked as a trainer specializing in teaching riders who had traumatic accidents and horses who were abused. My approach was similar to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, but I did not know it at the time. Several of my students, who were psychotherapists, repeatedly encouraged me to go to graduate school. I am glad I listened. Now instead of training horses, all I want to do is make a difference in other’s lives. So, I revamped my business so that everyone, regardless of their starting point, can choose a proven path forward. No matter what change you are struggling to navigate, I can provide the structural security, scientific strategies, and human focused skills needed to navigate transitions with confidence and clarity. My work is built on a core philosophy of Soul, Science, and Strategy by offering a science-verified, human-optimized structure that focuses on trackable progress. I support my clients through a spectrum of pathways, including self-paced digital tools, supportive community coaching, and high-level 1:1 strategic partnerships, all centered around my signature 5-stage Embracing Change Roadmap: Purpose & Path: Gaining directional clarity and finding your current coordinates. Mindset Reset: Overcoming self-sabotage and resetting inner narratives. Creating Space: Strategically releasing tethers to the past. T.E.A. Mastery: Building resilience by mastering Time, Energy, and Attention. Self-Command: Implementing life disciplines for independent sovereignty. When I’m not deep in the science of human behavior or partnering with clients to design their next chapter, I am likely doing any number of random and not usually related things. I can be found strolling in nature or off on a motorcycle adventure as my ways to decompress. I am insatiably and avidly curious and a firm believer in "progress, not perfection," so I’m also likely to be in the middle of learning any number of random things, from crocheting and clean eating to gun safety. And my absolute favorite is hearing stories, so I love an authentic, deep-dive conversation where I can witness another person's experiences in life. I love to collaborate with fellow business women, especially those serving people in seasons of transition, but also to trade knowledge around business practices and organizational skills.
